The first annual Rolling the Twisties is the only event of its kind to be held in the southeastern United States.  As driving enthusiasts, we believe the limits are made to be pushed and our cars meant to be driven.

Rolling the Twisties, inspired by some of the most prestigious and oldest forms of motorsport in the world, traces its roots back to events ranging from hill climbing to open-road or rally events.  Some notable European and North American examples are the Paris-Bordeaux-Paris Trial, Mille Miglia, Carrera Panamericana, Climb to the Clouds, Targa Newfoundland and the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. 

What sets Rolling the Twisties apart from other motorsport events?  It is not about pure speed and racing.  Rolling the Twisties is self guided tour that will cover approximately 1,000 miles of scenic and challenging roads in the states of Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee.  The event will take place over the course of five days in May/June 2010 (May 30th until June 3rd)

For some, the only complaint may be that the pace and concentration required will leave little time to enjoy the spectacular mountain and valley vistas throughout the drive. With lots to see, others may choose a more leisurely pace.  Either way, we know you will not be disappointed.  

The route will consist of a combination of technical roads with long down hill rides.  It’s about the driving experience and not about covering as many miles as possible in a single day.  Rolling the Twisties is not a race or track driving event!

Our rigorous screening process will ensure that reckless thrill seekers and trouble makers are not invited to participate.  We know who these people are among community insiders.  Only those with cars in top mechanical condition and individuals who are true driving enthusiasts will be considered.    

Although we can not guarantee perfect weather conditions throughout the event, we can assure you of a shared spirit for driving and kinship among participants unlike any other.

It’s also important to note that while Rolling the Twisties will take place in the southeastern United States, it’s truly an international event and will include participants from other countries. 

Upon being accepted as a participant, information covering the following topics will be released:

  • The route including a detailed map
  • Lodging details
  • Roster of participants

As stated in our initial communiqué, it remains important to maintain a high level of secrecy prior to and throughout the event.  By doing so, you will help protect the integrity of this very exclusive motorsport event.
